Still Here, Still Fighting

As we begin the new year I would like to report that my father is no longer involved with the scammers. Unfortunately I can't do that, because he is still a money mule for the Jamaicans.

While I have long suspected he was still laundering money for the crooks, those suspicions were confirmed only recently when I volunteered to gas up his car and found two opened Express Mail envelopes peeking out from beneath one of the floor mats. Both were empty and from strangers on opposite sides of the country, and instead of confronting my father - which is pointless - I simply copied the information from the labels, put the envelopes back under the mat and reported the matter to law enforcement authorities where the senders reside.

Because those authorities were not obligated to share the outcome, I don't know if my actions made any difference. I do know, however, that they made a difference to me, for by taking action I am making good on my promise to keep battling the bastards as long as my dad remains in their thrall.

Happy New Year - and to those of you engaged in similar battles, a toast:  Here's to making life more difficult for Caribbean con men in 2016.

Cheers,

SOS
